Cupcakes 102

Note: Cake or cupcake decorating experience is preferred when taking this class. If you are new to decorating, or have not worked with fondant before, you should take Cupcakes 101 first.

Cupcakes 102 is the next step in your cupcake decorating journey! Learn additional skills to complement your previous cake and cupcake decorating experience.

All ingredients and equipment are provided.

Techniques you will learn

Equipment

• Learn the differences between fondant and gumpaste, working with tylose
• Use JEM cutters and other advanced equipment

Piping and Decorating

• Have the choice of six fabulous looking projects to complete, including the Tiffany cupcake, baby under a blanket, teapot and teacup, picnic blanket scene and more
• Learn how to pipe a beautiful rose swirl with a star tip

On completion of the class

After completion of Cupcakes 102, you can go on to our advanced modelling classes. Also follow cake decorating tutorials with confidence and understanding of the equipment and techniques used!

Equipment

You will take home 6 completed cupcakes and some additional equipment, plus our booklet and certificate.

Booking

Cupcakes 102 usually runs from 6:30pm – approximately 9:30pm on a weeknight and all materials and equipment is provided. If you have an apron it is recommended you bring it along. Each place is $80. You can host your own Cupcakes 102 class at home with four students, email us for more details.

Location

Our classes currently take place at the Box Factory Community Centre, 59 Regent Street South, in the city. There is ample untimed parking on Halifax Street, which is a short walk down the street from the centre.
