Ever wanted to learn how to make macarons like the pros? Dispel the myths and come and learn how to make them yourself!
All ingredients and equipment are provided.
Techniques you will learn
Macarons
• Heating sugar syrup to soft boil stage
• Whipping egg whites and combining these to create an Italian Meringue
• Colouring macarons by adding powdered colours to the meringue as it cools
Preparation
• Fold all ingredients together (macaronage)
• Pipe macaron shells onto trays with guides to get the correct size
• Leave trays to rest before baking them at correct temperature
Troubleshooting
• Identifying issues with ingredients and/or technique and how to avoid/resolve them
Completion
• Making of buttercream/ganache for a perfect filling
• Pair and fill macarons

Once you have finished Art of Macarons we hope you have the confidence to make them yourself at home!
Equipment
You will take home many completed (and tasty) macarons, a glass sugar thermometer, a macaron piping guide and a macaron plastic piping nozzle.
Booking
Art of Macarons runs from 6pm – approximately 9:30pm on a weeknight and all materials and equipment is provided. This class is limited to six places with no exceptions and you must wear enclosed shoes and pants (OH&S). If you have an apron it is recommended you bring it along. Each place is $120. You can host your own Art of Macarons class at home with four students, email us for more details.

Location
Our classes currently take place at the Box Factory Community Centre, 59 Regent Street South, in the city. There is ample untimed parking on Halifax Street, which is a short walk down the street from the centre.
