FAQ
Where are your classes held?
Decorating Classes are held at two venues:
The Cupcake Treats Studio, Valley View (maximum 6 students)
The Box Factory Community Centre, Adelaide (maximum 12 students)
Is there parking available?
There is plenty of free street parking available at both venues.
The class I want to do is full, when are you publishing the next ones?
As of 2013 we have the studio to teach from, so classes will be published every 4-6 weeks. Register for the newsletter and we’ll update you when we schedule them in.
Can I be put on the waiting list for the next class or pay now so I have secured a spot?
We do not reserve places or take payments to secure places in classes. You should join the Class Newsletter and then you have the best chance of signing up first.
How can I find out about the classes as soon as they come out?
If you subscribe to the Newsletter, you’ll be emailed as soon as they are released!
How do I book into a class?
On the Class Registration page, the available classes with spaces will be listed. Register for your preferred class and proceed to make payment by Credit Card (PayPal). If the one you want is not there, or full, you will have to wait for the next one. We do not keep waiting lists unless of special cirumstances (see below)
What do I bring to a class?
Please ensure you wear enclosed shoes (for OH&S reasons), an apron (if you have one) and bring a carry bag. If you do not have an apron just expect to head home a little dirty, but it will save you some bother! Class specific requirements will be emailed to you before the class.
What happens after my booking is confirmed?
After you have booked and paid for your space, we send you a reminder email (and text message if you have provided your mobile number) seven days prior to the class which will detail everything you need to know. All you need to do after this is turn up! If you book for a class and do not pay within 24 hours your space will be released back into the available pool due to repeated non payment incidents. You can make payment via Credit Card (PayPal).
I have paid and booked into a class, but cannot make it due to illness/exceptional circumstances. What happens?
If you advise us with enough notice (as much notice as possible, 24 hours preferred) we are more than happy to hold onto your class credit until another time comes around. If we do not hear from you before the class start time, your payment will be considered forfeited.
You need to read all of the details of the class you are registering for and make sure you meet the requirements if it is an advanced class.
Are you running another *insert class here* soon?
Our most frequently scheduled class is Cupcakes 101. If there are no spots currently available, check back weekly – or sign up to the newsletter to be notified first when the class listings go live. We get lots of emails asking us about all of our classes and we try to run them as frequently as possible. Scheduling all of our classes depends on the availability of the venue we book them in, which sometimes is the biggest hurdle.
When they’re first listed on the website, classes tend to book out within 3-4 hours. We are listing them as often as possible.
What about home/private classes?
We can now offer small group classes at the Valley View Studio with a minimum of three people for any of our classes, depending on scheduling. Contact us for more information.
Private one on one classes, depending on the content you’d like to cover, start from $80 an hour. There is a minimum of a two hour booking, plus all travel costs are applicable ($0.50 per km travelled both ways if you’d like to take the class in your own home with your equipment). For classes like Cake Basics and Art of Macarons where we require more time discounts are available for more hours booked.
Refund Policy
We offer refunds in line with ACCC requirements for physical merchandise and will offer a full refund, credit, or exchange if the item is faulty, not as described, or unfit for a purpose we have specified it is suitable for. We offer no refunds for change of mind or for food products once orders are confirmed as we allocate ingredients and labour prior to the delivery date.
