Cupcake Treats began in 2009 in Adelaide, South Australia. Its founder, Monique Kleine, saw that it was obvious the demand for her cupcakes was becoming greater. She baked cakes throughout her childhood but wasn’t introduced to cupcakes until 2008 when she was given some baking equipment for Christmas. Monique originally started life after school down the path of computers and photography, but something didn’t quite feel right until she came across cupcakes! After studying Patisserie at Regency TAFE, Monique was able to expand the Cupcake Treats menu to include many additional desserts and now creates masterpiece dessert buffets.
Cupcake Treats was born out of organising another big cupcake related event – Cupcake Camp Adelaide! With our tasty cupcakes and the cupcakes of twelve other bakers, they teamed up to raise over $1000 for Camp Quality and sold over 400 cupcakes in under three hours. In 2010 Cupcake Treats also took part in the High Tea for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation, where we helped to raise over $2000 with our contribution to the dessert bar and raffle!
We supported Cupcake Camp Adelaide which in 2011 raised $2270 towards Queensland Flood Relief efforts. Not only did we donate towards these three events but we have also contributed to many charity events and fundraisers since 2009.
Since the business began we have had a number of part time assistants and helpers come on board to assist the Cupcake Treats mission. You might see them at cupcake decorating parties or markets and wedding fairs!
We are currently located just off Nelson Road in Valley View, South Australia, and bake all cupcakes fresh to order from a private kitchen. Consultations and order collections are by appointment only.
